(More customer reviews)I've had this charger for almost a month now. I bought this charger simply because the one that came with my laptop died, I was in finals week, and I needed something fast. While the product description states "manufactured by HP," I am almost 100% sure that this is a knock-off. It comes in a nice little box that isn't HP either. Many of my friends also own HP products and the difference between the real and not is clearly visible when you put them side by side. The plastic material of the adapter box is definitely different from a real HP one and it just looks more flimsy too. I guess you get what you pay for.
I have a HP pavilion dv6t laptop and the charger so far has been doing alright. I'd say this is a pretty satisfactory charger if not for two things:
1) There is a really loud, high-pitched "current" noise whenever it is charging the battery. It gets to be pretty annoying.
2) The connection joint between power box itself and the power cord is very loose. I've had my laptop die on me many times now only because the power cord came out form the adapter box. This too is somewhat of a nuisance as you have to basically leave the adapter box and power cord both on a flat surface with plenty of excess cord space on each side.
Also, on a (possibly) unrelated note, since I have started using this charger about, my battery manager has indicated that I need to replace my battery. I'm not sure if this is because of the new charger or the fact that my battery has finally approached the end of its lifespan, I'll leave that for you to decide.
Overall, I give this product a 3 stars because it get the job done: charge my laptop.
